Country Girl

I've wanted to do a country, cowgirl, grew up on a farm; themed shoot for a while and I finally got my chance with model and friend Toni Langdridge. The sun was out, so spying our opportunity we headed outdoors for a personal editorial.

Red Reign

Lately, it seems everywhere I look a new period drama is popping up; I'm talking, Camelot, Game of Thrones style. Not that I'm complaining, I've been dying to watch Game of Thrones since it came out, I haven't quite gotten around to it yet, but since its curl up on your couch weather I'm spying my chance.

Although I'm not usually a big fan of taking self portraits, I just fancied a quick shoot which I could do some heavy duty editing on.

Anyway, here's my take on a kingdom themed drama poster.

Studio Fashion & Accessories Shoot

Its been a while since I've been in the studio, and when I get itching to pick up the camera I often look through my archives for inspiration. This particular shoot was quite a spur of the moment event, but as usual, I had such fun editing it. The beautiful model is Phoebe, a friend from college.

The Lullaby Trust

The Lullaby Trust is a charity that is very important to one of my close friends. It provides specialist support for bereaved families, promotes expert advice on safer baby sleep and raises awareness of sudden infant death. Last year my friend was part of a team that arranged a local fundraiser. I was asked to document the event.

Conscience

I recently watched the film adaptation of Beautiful Creatures, I have to confess to not having read the books, but thought the film was brilliant. The promotional art for the movie was what initially caught my eye, I was a huge fan of the giant composites I saw hanging just about everywhere when it first came out, but time escaped me and I missed out until it was released to DVD.

Inspired by the idea of the everlasting, and sometimes inner, battle between good and evil, and the supernatural twist that Hollywood is dishing out within the genre (Re: Mortal Instruments: City of Bones; another prime example), I started a short project which I have called 'Conscience'.

Heavy editing in post brought my vision to life:

To quote the movie, Mortal Instruments: City of bones:

"The war against evil can never be won, but must always be fought."

Fantasy Room

A University project called for an image titled 'fantasy room' - excited I started storyboarding elaborate scenes with costumes and extensive sets. To my dismay, the deadline was set for one weeks time and I already had a full schedule. Luckily I was able to pull a rabbit out of the hat... so to speak.

Inspired by all things faye, here's my 'fantasy room'.
Why not climb the rickety ladder and see if you end up in Narnia?
